Let’s ConnectMalika has always worked in best-in-class companies, so it was only natural for her to join Compass. She came into residential sales and rentals after 20 years on Wall Street in capital markets sales and trading. Her experience trading billions in currencies, stocks and bonds for top firms like Citibank, Barclays and JP Morgan afforded her a keen eye for detail and efficiency, along with an ability to thrive under pressure and spot trends early.
Real estate allowed Malika to capitalize on her expert skillset and extensive network of relationships around the country and globe. She enjoys interacting with customers face to face, providing a valuable service as well as the seasoned market insight that helps guide buyers and sellers to achieve their investment goals. “I read the signs and stay ahead of the trends, keeping my clients two steps ahead at all times. I approach every deal from a top-down and bottom-up approach to investment, really analyzing real estate for the Return of Investment, pricing for the supply-demand relationship and negotiating from a win-win perspective.”
Malika has successfully applied this philosophy to managing family properties and 203k rehab projects for the past 10 years. She has a sharp eye for potential and sensitivity to a good value. Malika can advise on what a home can look like with a personal design touch, what improvements can be made to optimize appeal and functionality and how to stage your home to sell at the maximum price.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Malika loves selling and renting homes in her hometown borough as well as in Manhattan, particularly charming brownstone neighborhoods from downtown to Harlem. She has lived in Bed-Stuy, Clinton Hill, Fort Greene, and Prospect Heights, watching these areas blossom.
Malika holds a dual Bachelor’s in Education & Sociology from SUNY Buffalo State College and an MBA in Finance from Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park. She has visited over 57 countries and followed in the footsteps of her family of community organizers as a founding board member of Nomadic Explorers, a board committee member of Ifetayo Cultural Arts and an advisory board member of the Concerned Cultural Women’s Collective. Malika also volunteers as a mentor and coach with community and youth organizations.
